"Los Angeles, CA. I had photographed Lilith in her other embodiments in the past, but as soon as the reveal of Lilith hit and King hit my eyes and ears, I was in love with this new era, the new look, and new sound. I wanted to make sure to get her in Outburn as soon as possible and was able to make a cover shoot of it. This was in the midst of the pandemic, I want to say early summer 2021, when bands still werent touring, people were unsure of what the future would be like... even Disney was closed at the time. So I had to make the most of my first travel and first big shoots in over a year, and lined up a bunch of shoots at a studio in Los Angeles, photographing Lilith directly after BVB which made perfect sense as Andy and Lilith would likely be traveling together for the shoot anyway, and both were cover shoots. This was my first time doing a big shoot with her, and we really knocked out a bunch of incredible looks in suh a short amount of time. With something like this, an artist becoming a new version of themselves, its important that the images line up properly with their new direction, and I think the two of us absolutely got it perfect. This first set of photo we did is still my favorite, which this image is from, as to me, it just IS Lilith as definitive as could be, a King." Jeremey Saffer
