Bio
Rebecca Tillman-Young is a painter and art instructor in Los Angeles, California. Rebecca always knew she wanted to be an artist. She began drawing at a young age and has always been drawn to portraits and figures. After receiving her BFA in painting, she spent the next few years cultivating a portrait painting career, and moved from San Antonio, Texas to Los Angeles. In 2016, Rebecca and her husband Luke started an online art academy called RTY Art, where Rebecca teaches students to draw and paint portraits and start their own careers as artists. Rebecca primarily works in oils, painting portraits through which she explores themes of identity, self-perception, and the relationship between light and shadow – both internal and external.
