Bio
Kahla is an oil painter from Las Vegas, specializing in traditional portrait techniques blended with pop culture, magical realism, and dark comedy. After completing a BFA at Otis College of Art & Design, she spent a decade creating hand painted album covers and promotional artwork for bands such as L.A. Guns, as well as developing her current body of fine art pieces that feature spooky cats and other animal oddities. When not reimagining pop culture icons as cats, her work celebrates animals that are often considered repulsive - such as sewer rats and pigeons.
